Exclusive: Chaos as Akpabio was barred from entering Ibom hall to pay his respects to Late Air Marshal Nsikak-Abasi Essien Eduok


There was pandemonium at Ibom Hall, in Uyo, the state capital of Akwa Ibom state as dignitaries from all walks of life came to pay their final respects to the late “The late Air Marshal Nsikak-Abasi Essien Eduok Rtd”.


The chaos started when the Minister of Niger delta affairs, senator Godswill Akpabio came with his entourage and security  aides  but were barred from

Entering the venue of the event by the security detail of the current  governor “Emmanuel Udom”


Orange Reporter at the event reported that Governor Emmanuel Udom sat comfortably on his chair and watched the fracas play out. The crowd at the event however wasn’t in support of the Governor and his aides decision as they were heard chanting “allow Akpabio, we miss you Akpabio, let Akpabio in”.


After much conundrum and display of force, the Minister was finally let into the event center but sat very far from  governor Emmanuel Udom and his entourage, where he finally paid his respects. 



Senator Godswill Akapbio later said he was at the funeral of Late Air Marshal Nsikak Eduok to honour him as a statesman and a man that has contributed his quota to the development of the Nigerian Air Force.


The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs described the demise of the 12th Nigerian Chief of Air Staff as a great loss to Akwa Ibom and Nigeria. 

“That is why I have come to honour him. I went to the family house to pay my last respect and say yes indeed, he was a great patriot. 

He was indeed an asset of indispensable value. I don’t know when we will have another. May his soul rest in peace,” prayed Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom.


The funeral of Late Nsikak Eduok held at Ibom Hall, Uyo. There, Akpabio noted that “late Nsikak Eduok was a patriotic Nigerian, a good administrator, and a man of excellence, who contributed immensely to the growth and development of Nigeria”.



“We will miss him, and I pray God to give Akwa Ibom another Nsikak Eduok
